5,5-DIPHENYL-D10-HYDANTOIN reduces incidence of grand mal seizures; appears to stabilize excitable membranes perhaps through effects on Na+, K+, and Ca2+ channels.
Uses
5,5-(Diphenyl-d10) Hydantoin is deuterium labelled Diphenylhydantoin (D491650), which is an anticonvulsant agent that suppresses abnormal brain activity associated with seizure. Diphenylhydantoin is used to treat ulcers, epidermolysis bullosa, chorea, Parkinson’s syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia, acute alcoholism, and inflammatory conditions (1,2).
